Dundalk students really are top of the class as a number of schools are celebrating national success this week.
Fifth Class pupils at the CBS are celebrating after coming out on top in the national Show Racism the Red Card Creative competition, with the award presented by Roy Keane in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon. (See Page 7)
Students at Colaiste Rís are celebrating after being named Eastern Region winners at the prestigious national Junk Kouture competition. (See Page 11).
Pandora’s Box created by Emma Duffy, Chloe Murden and Grainne Byrne, under the guidance of teacher, Mardeen McCaughey, claimed the regional prize after taking to the stage and delivering a mind boggling deeply important message of self-worth and promoting mental health awareness.
Emma also got to model the dress on The Late Late Show on Friday night.
Meanwhile, St Peters NS in Dromiskin hit the headlines on two fronts.
Firstly, the soccer team played its way to the FAI Leinster Schools Finals following three valuable wins at Navan on Thursday April 27 to emerge as the North Lein-
ster regional winners. The Leinster Final will be played this month. (See Page 9)
Meanwhile, pupils from Fifth and Sixth Class created a new record for a primary school by completing a marathon in just over one hour and six minutes. (See Page 8).
There was also success for Krzysztof Baran from St Mary’s College recently took part in the final of Gael Linn’s prestigious ‘Abair’ Irish public speaking competition where he finished in second place. (See Page 2)
