Young singer Barry Murphy displayed his undoubted talents to the nation when he put in a stunning performance on Friday’s Late Late Toy Show.
The 11-year-old from St Mary’s Road, sang ‘True Colours’ along with Alisha Weir from Dublin, and the song went down a real treat with both the live and television audience.
Proud dad, John, revealed that Barry was delighted with the whole occasion and thrilled to have been part of such a great event.
“It really is a once in lifetime opportunity and something you just have to enjoy. Thankfully it all went well for him and luckily he wasn’t too nervous on the big night,” explained John.
Barry, a Fifth Class pupil at the CBS in Dundalk, travelled to RTE with his mother, Linda, and before the show started all the children were addressed by Ryan Tubridy who thanked the all for taking part.
The young singer had been to RTE a number of times in the lead up to the event and on the Thursday took part in a full rehearsal, so he was very relaxed when it came to the live performance.
Among those tuning in to watch Barry were older brothers, Eoin and Conor, along with sister, Ciara.
