An Táin Arts Centre’s new programme announced

Highlights of the season include a huge host of local and touring music and dance, including: Mná na hÉireann, a unique celebration of the women of the revolution, the Opera Collective Ireland’s world prèmiere of Vagabones, local band Orwells ’84 playing in the studio theatre, and a sumptuous evening of classical baroque music with Magical Mozart.
The September to December film season boasts classics such as Pillow Talk, modern horror thriller A Quiet Place, back for another screening due to huge demand The Wife, Oscar-winning Green Book, black comedy The Favourite. All movies available at a discount through the Film Season tickets.
Keep an eye out for fantastic theatre, both local and national, with Dundalk Theatre Workshop presenting the classic Pride and Prejudice, Dundalk Musical Society returning with another huge musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, off-site production Spliced celebrating the GAA, the theatre company in residence, Encore Productions presenting their adaptation Courage, and local group Dolmen Theatre presenting a selection of Christmas Ghost Stories.
There is also a wealth of visual arts on offer, with artist in residence Rozzi Kennedy presenting her Open Studio, Creative Spark presenting their newest residency exhibition Beneath the Surface, St Brigid’s School presenting their always colourful and fun exhibitions – this year’s offering is entitled Same & Different – and Louth County Council displaying a selection of the county’s collection in Taisce Lú: A Curator’s Choice.
The Basement Gallery is free to enter and open to everyone while Culture Night, a huge national event offering families a host of different activities, is free.
