Successful operation for Zoe Murphy

The parents of Zoe Murphy have given a positive update on the status of their daughter following life changing surgery in the USA last weekend.
Two-year old Zoe Murphy was born with quadriplegia and developed cerebral palsy at 21 months old. As a result she suffers with spasticity and restricted movement. Zoe’s parents Lynda Bannon and Eamonn Murphy were told by doctors that their daughter faced the prospect of being in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
However, after being introduced to CBD Oil in early 2018 Zoe showed remarkable improvements and was told that she was eligible to receive life changing surgery in America that could improve her standard of living still further. Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy aims to selectively destroy problematic nerve roots in the spinal cord – potentially eradicating spasticity as Zoe’s bones/muscles continue to grow.
After a huge fundraising effort last year Zoe and her family reached their €100,000 target and a date was set for surgery in St Louis Children’s hospital Missouri by Dr T.S Park. That date finally arrived last weekend and following the operation Eamonn and Lynda took to social media to share their great news.
“She’s out and in recovery. We just spoke to Dr Park who has confirmed the surgery was a success. Toes have wiggled, hands have gripped and Zoe made a joke about princesses kissing frogs. She is back with us and we will never be letting her go again.
“Thank you so so much for the unbelievable amount of support we have got all morning. The last four hours we have both got so many messages from so many people just wanting updates on Zoe and checking on her. Your support and love for Zoe absolutely melts our hearts. Thank you all so so so much. We just wanted to let you all know she is done. She is in recovery and on Valium right now so will be in and out for the rest of the day , but everyone is confident here she done great .
“For all the prayers and candles, thank you so much , they have been answered. We will keep updating her page so everyone can keep up with her progress.
I knew our little warrior would kick this surgeries ass. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The happiest parents in the world right now,” concluded the message.
