Town ready for Frostival Festival

This weekend sees the Frostival Winter Festival arrive in Dundalk Town Centre with plenty of things to do for all the family. The festival takes place on Friday November 22 and Saturday 23 and this year’s theme is ‘Carnival of Light’. The Frostival Parade promises to be an awe-inspiring celebration of arts, culture and Christmas fun featuring beautifully lit floats, stilt and fire performers, an aerialist, dancers in breath-taking costumes and much much more.
The parade will start at the Longwalk SC and travel via Church Street, Clanbrassil Street, Crowe Street, Francis Street, Park Street and Magnet Road before returning to the Longwalk SC.
There will also be Christmas Markets, a Little Elves Fun Zone, Santa’s Grotto, Frostival Express Train and a Family Treasure Hunt at Market Square.
The schedule of events at Market Square is as follows:
Friday: 11am – 6pm Dundalk Christmas Market; 4 – 7:30pm Santa’s Grotto at Market Square; 4 – 7:30pm Little Elves Fun Zone; 6 – 6:45pm Accidents in the Workplace; 6:45 to 7pm Switching on Christmas tree & street lights; 7pm Carnival of Light Frostival Parade.
Saturday: 11am – 6pm Dundalk Christmas Market; 12 – 3:30pm Santa’s Grotto at Market Square; 12 – 3:30pm Frostival Express; 12 – 2pm Frostival Family Treasure Hunt; 12 – 3:30pm Little Elves Fun Zone.
Martin McElligott thanked all who have helped the preparations for the festival.
