Kind-hearted Kellie launches Toy Appeal

A woman who has organised a toy appeal to help people struggling with the cost of living is accepting donations until Friday, December 16.

Kellie Conlon told the Dundalk Leader that she came up with the idea for the toy appeal after reading some posts from cash-strapped families online.
“In the last couple of weeks leading up to it I noticed some stuff online. People were talking about the cost-of-living crisis,” she said.

“I could see how people would be struggling with everything that’s going on. There was one lady in the group who wrote that she was having to choose between heating the house and putting food on the table.”

Kellie added: “I just said to myself that there’s more out there that can be done. People are sitting back doing nothing.

“I thought if I’m not going to do it, who else will. So, I made a poster and put it online and got a great reaction to it.
“There was a fantastic response. Loads of my family members are saying they will help to distribute the toys.

“I’m planning to donate to two well-known charities – Women’s Aid and Save Our Homeless.”

Please donate new unwrapped toys for donation to children for the next Christmas season for the children who need it most.
