Darkness Into Light Dundalk took place on Saturday, May 6 at 4.15am from Dundalk Institute of Technology’s campus.
Maxol Dublin Road opened from 4am and provided complimentary jambons and sausage rolls for the first 500 people in after the event from 5am wearing yellow.
Around 60 people from the local Swimhatters Group got together for a dip and swam in the sea at Templetown to mark Darkness Into Light 2023.
Many people choose to take on a challenge for Darkness Into Light. Participants can jog, swim or kayak for Darkness Into Light.

Darkness Into Light asks that you commit to raising €200 for Pieta and people affected by suicide and self-harm.
Many people raise much more than this – the average is almost €300. There were over 200 official walks for Darkness Into Light in 2023 across 15 countries spanning five continents.
Participants can also take part in Darkness Into Light In Your Own Way by walking into sunrise in their local area with friends, family or colleagues or simply sharing a sunrise moment with your loved ones.
